Shakib To Karachi, Musfiq To Karachi, Lahore Net Mustafiz ,Tamim In Ialamabad| Pakistan Super League
Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan was picked by the Karachi franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) player draft today.
Shakib Al Hasan was selected by Karachi Kings as a Platinum category player during the second round of the draft pick, reports Cricbuzz.
Players placed in the Platinum category will receive $140,000, Diamond players will earn $70,000, Gold will earn $50,000 and Silver will collect $25,000 respectively.
The format for the player draft of PSL: Each franchise will have a kit of $1.1 million to buy players. A total of 16 players will be picked for each of the five teams. Each of the franchises will have to vie for one icon player from among Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Shane Watson, Chris Gayle and Kevin Pietersen, who will fetch $200,000.
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play for Karachi Kings while speedster Mustafizur Rahman will be with Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League to be played in the United Arab Emirates in February next year.
While Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has been picked by Peshwar Zalmi in the Gold category in today's draft. Tamim's team also roped in Shahid Afridi, Darren Sammy, Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Hafiz.
Shakib is one of Karachi’s three Platinum Players (PP), the other two being Shoaib Malik and Sohail Tanvir. The PPs are valued at $140000, which is over Tk 1 crore.
Mustafiz, also in the Gold category, will play alongside Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and the last Bangladesh Premier League's highest wicket-taker, Kevon Cooper.
